Here are the top stories in Baton Rouge today:

  1. More foster parents are needed in the Baton Rouge area. There are over 200 children in foster care, according to the department of children and family services, and COVID-19 created a shortage of foster caregivers. There is a specific need for foster parents who are certified to care for kids around ages 15-17. (WAFB)
  2. The Baton Rouge Chapter of the NAACP teamed up with local groups to stop violence in the city. The other groups include East Baton Rouge Public Schools, Baton Rouge Police, C.A.T.S., YWCA, and C.H.A.N.G.E. The goal is to into classrooms and share strategies to prevent crimes from happening.   3. East Baton Rouge Parish will hold a cybersecurity workshop on identity theft and cyber threats against youth on Oct. 25 for Cybersecurity Awareness Month. (BRProud.com)
