Here are the top three stories today in Baton Rouge:

  1. Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank launched a mobile app to increase food access. The app gives users information about how to apply for SNAP benefits, mobile food distributions, program resources, and information about events. (BRProud.com)
  2. State Police are looking for a juvenile fugitive believed to be in the Baton Rouge area. The 16-year-old is wanted by the Office of Juvenile Justice after he escaped from a juvenile facility in the Avoyelles Parish area. (WBRZ)
  3. The "No Surprises Act" was passed in Washington after two years of debate. The act provides federal protection for patients against surprise medical bills. This will now require everyone involved in your care to give you an upfront price of what it will cost you. (WAFB)

  • Baton Rouge Firefighters responded to a vacant house fire in the 2000 block of Gayosa St. The house was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived on scene. The house is a total loss but they were able to keep it from damaging the neighboring homes. (Facebook)
