Here are the top stories today in Baton Rouge:
- A Baton Rouge toddler found dead in Mississippi on Sunday was the victim of a homicide, the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office said Monday. The coroner released preliminary results showing that 2-year-old Neveah Allen had been killed, though a full autopsy will take 60-90 days to complete. The cause of death is pending further studies. (KATC Lafayette News)
- Five people at a nursing home in Baton Rouge were taken to a hospital after a carbon monoxide leak yesterday afternoon. A broken boiler vent pipe released high levels of carbon monoxide into Sterling Place nursing home on North Boulevard. The air has been cleared and the boiler shut off, while the condition of the five individuals is not yet known. (KATC Lafayette News)
- Baton Rouge Police located a woman who went missing on Monday. (WBRZ)
- Baton Rouge is trying to offer more kids in high school free job training but the demand is lower than they've hoped. (The Advocate)
- The driver and passenger of a car merging onto Interstate 12 died Monday morning when an 18-wheeler crashed into the rear of their vehicle, Baton Rouge Police say. (The Advocate)
