- According to The Advocate, superintendent Sito Narcisse has lowered the number of required advanced placement (AP) courses required for ninth-graders in Baton Rouge Public High Schools. Originally, Narcisse had planned to favor dual enrollment over AP courses, but parents had voiced concerns that many colleges favor AP courses. Students will still have the option to do both. (The Advocate)
- Officials say that a Baton Rouge home caught on fire on Saturday night. The fire allegedly began after a “combustible” was thrown into a trash can, causing the trash to go on fire. There is reported damage to the rear of the home. (WBRZ)
- Diners at Louisiana State University had an unexpected dinner guest this weekend. A raccoon fell through the ceiling and proceeded to run through the dining hall. The raccoon was eventually captured. (Daily Comet)

- The Baton Rouge Police Department is hosting a recruiting event on Saturday, Feb. 26 starting at 10:00 a.m. They encourage local residents to come down and learn more about careers with the BRPD. (Facebook)
- The Louisiana Art & Science Museum hosted an event for students learning about chemistry. Some amazing students had a blast "creating chemistry" during a full day of educational adventures generously sponsored by BASF! (Instagram)
