Here are the top stories in Baton Rouge today:

  1. The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office has arrested a man who allegedly impersonated a police officer, then raped a teenage girl. 53-year-old Jason Allen Miller of Covington pulled over a 17-year-old female walking in the Gardere area. Miller reportedly showed a badge and said he was investigating narcotics, then stated she was under arrest and placed her in the backseat of his truck. He then drove the victim to a nearby park where he raped her. Miller is facing several charges including first-degree rape, false imprisonment, and false impersonation of a police officer. (WAFB)
  2. The North Baton Rouge YMCA is leading a program to combat food insecurity by offering healthy food, wellness activities, and cooking demonstrations. North Baton Rouge is considered a food desert — in other words, while there may be affordable food options available in the neighborhood, many of these choices are unhealthy. To help fight the lack of access to healthy food, the YMCA is hosting a pop-up farmers market to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to the community, along with cooking demonstrations to show families how they can prepare healthy meals at home. 3. There's a growing concern over the number of homeless camps popping up across Baton Rouge. (WAFB)
  4. Thanks to a collaboration between the Baton Rouge Gallery - Center for Contemporary Art and the Baton Rouge Airport, the works of about two dozen Louisiana-based artists will be featured in two airport concourses. (WBRZ)
  5. The Family Road of Greater Baton Rouge is offering free sonograms and ultrasound scans to the public. (BRProud.com)
