🌱 Man Pleads Not Guilty To DUI, BRPD Injury + Narcisse's Bonus?

Here are the top stories in Baton Rouge today:

1. A man suspected of driving drunk and injuring three Baton Rouge Police officers, who were responding to a separate crash on I-10 in August, pleaded not guilty to his charges in court on Monday. 27-year-old Joseph White appeared before Judge Tarvald Smith and entered a not guilty plea during his arraignment; his next court date is set in March. White was charged with DWI, as well as several counts of negligent injuring and one count of reckless operation; investigators reported that his blood alcohol content (BAC) was more than twice the legal limit. 2. The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board recently settled on nine performance goals for Superintendent Sito Narcisse that, if met, would earn him up to $10,000 on top of his annual $255,000 annual salary. Narcisse, however, has not been on the job long enough for the board to judge whether he has met many of the goals. The board set a deadline of Dec. 31 to decide which goals Narcisse met during 2021 and which ones he hasn’t; this coincides with the deadline for his first formal evaluation. (The Advocate)

4. The Health And Welfare Committee gathered Monday at the Louisiana State Capitol to discuss whether to add the COVID-19 vaccine to the list of required school shots. (WGNO)
