Here are the top three stories in Baton Rouge today:
- After much delay and being postponed three times, the Michelangelo – A Different View exhibit will open on Mar. 18 and run through Apr. 17 at the Raising Canes River Center. The exhibition will display “photo-mechanically reproduced copies” of a variety of Michelangelo’s works, including the Last Judgement. The exhibition will also feature a reproduction of the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo’s most famous work. (BRProud.com)
- Developers have broken ground on an apartment complex in North Baton Rouge at the corner of Ford Street and Plank Road. The $70M apartment, the Reserve at Howell Place, will house 300 one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments. It will feature stainless steel appliances along with a fitness center, pool, dog park, clubhouse, and more. CST Multifamily Real Estate Services predicts the construction will be finished by spring 2023. (BRProud.com)
- Starting Monday, masks will no longer be required to be worn indoors or outdoors on the Louisiana State University campus, LSU president William Tate IV wrote in a statement Thursday. Tate IV also stated that classes will resume normally as listed in the original course catalog, citing the decrease of COVID-19 case rates both on campus and in the Baton Rouge area.
