- Former Louisiana State University basketball star Glen Davis has been indicted in NBA fraud case. Davis and 18 other NBA players are charged with defrauding a total of $4 million out of the league's health care plan. According to the prosecutors, former NBA player Terrence Williams, 34, circulated false invoices to the other players involved in exchange for kickbacks. (Greater Baton Rouge Business Report)
- A Baton Rouge man was booked this week on counts of attempted murder and armed robbery. According to authorities, Dane Johnson, 20, tried to rob a woman of an Xbox on Sept. 28. Johnson shot at the victim who was able to get a hold of his gun, fire shots at him, and call the police. (The Advocate)
- Food insecurity's long-term health consequences after the hurricane and pandemic have increased in the Capital Region. (WAFB)
- Baton Rouge school leaders are apologizing to parents after hiring a teacher with a criminal past. (The Advocate)
