  1. Two people were wounded in a shooting south of Winbourne Avenue, according to Baton Rouge police. The victims were rushed to the hospital, but their injuries didn't seem life-threatening at the time. Police are still investigating. (The Advocate)
  2. The Baton Rouge Fire Department has been assisting Jefferson Parish officials on the ground since Sept. 16. On Saturday, Oct. 2, BRFD sent two fire engines, nine responders, and a chief’s unit to help respond to emergency calls.
