Here are the top stories today in Baton Rouge:
- On Saturday morning, the Baton Rouge community paid respect to Master Trooper Adam Gaubert, a 19-year Louisiana State Police veteran who was recently ambushed and killed in a patrol car in Ascension Parish. Community members waved flags during the procession and shared their condolences. The procession was followed by the funeral at St. George Catholic Church. (BRProud.com)
- The American Institute of Architects Louisiana awarded the Medal of Honor to Jesse Cannon, the late New Orleans architect. Cannon served as public sector architect and assistant circuit executive for space and facilities for the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Along with Cannon, a few others were awarded for their outstanding work in architecture. (The Advocate)
- One Love, One Fight event was held to fight back against gun violence in Baton Rouge. (WBRZ)
- Interstate 10 in Baton Rouge is being widened, and it will involve tree removal along the interchange. (WBRZ)
- A 25-year-old man was found shot to death in a bar parking lot on Saturday night, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department. (WAFB)
