Stuff To Do When East Baton Rouge Parish Library’s Closed (For Hurricane Delta)
Remember what Gaston said in Beauty and the Beast: if you read, soon, you'll start "getting ideas and thinking."
October 9, 2020
All branches of the library are closed today because of Hurricane Delta, which feels like between the fiftieth and one millionth hurricane to threaten to attack Baton Rouge this hurricane season. Here are some great library resources you can use while we’re closed. They’re also great to keep yourself from staring out the window and trying to hurry the storm along with the power of your mind!

Read (or listen to) a book with OverDrive and/or its smart device app, Libby! Remember what Gaston said in Beauty and the Beast: if you read, soon, you’ll start “getting ideas and thinking.” Wonderful!

Don’t have the attention span right now? Keep your hands and mind busy with a craft from Creativebug! You can search for crafts you already kind of know how to do, or focus on beginner classes in a new category. If you absolutely can’t bear being away from the library today, take a look at the bookbinding classes and start a library of your own.
Maybe a movie will drown out the sound of the wind and rain. Take a look through IndieFlix and Kanopy, and find your new favorite film.
All these resources and many more are freely available in the Digital Library to everyone with an East Baton Rouge Parish library card. We’ll see you as soon as the storm’s over.
