Here are the top three stories in Baton Rouge today:
- Southern University Library received a grant to digitize archives. The $182,199 grant was given from the National Endowment for Humanities. It will allow the library to digitize, catalog and distribute archival collections, which include the contributions of Black people to the state in the 1960s and 1970s. (BRProud.com)
- The Baton Rouge Symphony League presented 19 debutantes at the Bal de la Symphonie at the Crowne Plaza. A BRSO ensemble provided music, and after dinner and the presentation, guests enjoyed music by After Party. (The Advocate)
- The BREC ‘Free First Sunday’ Magnolia Mound tour started on Jan. 2. BREC invites the community to explore the historical property. Tour guides are scheduled for 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. (BRProud.com)

- Detectives from the Louisiana State Police investigated a fatal officer-involved shooting involving their officers in Jonesboro. One subject was found deceased on the scene, and no law enforcement personnel were injured during the incident. (Facebook)

- The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge reminds everyone to purchase tickets for MPAC, happening on Jan. 20th! They are taking the party outside onto the Rooftop Terrace and the street where performances will happen on the Essential Federal Credit Union stage. (Facebook)
