Here are the top stories in Baton Rouge today:
- The Southern University Army ROTC program will host its annual Veterans Day 5k Run and Bike Ride on Nov. 13 at 7:30 a.m. The event will honor local veterans in support of Military Appreciation Day. (WBRZ)
- A Baton Rouge pastor is using a lawn mowing business to employ the homeless. The pastor, Joe Moore, created Moore Lawn Enterprises, LLC, which hires those facing homelessness to cut lawns. Currently, he is able to hire about 10 people for four days of the week and pay them above minimum wage. (WAFB)
- The annual Mediathon fundraiser with Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital kicked off on Thursday and runs until Friday at 6 p.m. It will benefit new equipment, as well as programs such as Child Life Services. (WAFB)
- LSU canceled its Veteran's Day Ceremony due to rainy weather, but will hold an induction ceremony tomorrow (Nov. 13) for the Hall of Honor for LSU Distinguished Military Alumni. (BRProud.com)
- A Pediatric Super-Clinic opened in Baton Rouge inside the Ochsner Medical Complex to offer Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines for children on Thursday evening. (BRProud.com)
