Here are the top three stories today in Baton Rouge:
- On early Wednesday morning, an 18-wheeler truck hit the St. George Fire Protection District headquarters. At around 4:00 a.m., the truck rolled over bushes into the building. No one was severely injured in the crash and the building did not sustain major damage. As of now, there is no known cause for the crash; the case is being investigated by Louisiana State Police. - Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome is planning to announce new public health resources for East Baton Rouge Parish today, Mar. 31. Expected to be announced is the relaunch of HealthyBR.com, a resource hub for EBR residents. Mayor Broome is making her announcement at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center at 10:00 am. - Around 7:45 pm on Tuesday night, a person was shot on Denham St. The victim survived and their gunshot wounds were considered non-life-threatening. Baton Rouge police are still investigating the shooting. (BRProud.com)

- The new marsh boardwalk and outdoor classroom at Cypremort Point State Park are nearing completion. The area will be used to teach about the plants and animals that call the marsh home. (Instagram)
- The Baton Rouge Police Department will have its weekly Community Walk and Talk Thursday, today, Mar. 31 in the Capitol High School area known locally as “Easy Town.” Attendees are meeting in the 1000 block of North 23rd St. at 3:00 p.m. (Facebook)
