Here are the top three stories today in Baton Rouge:

  1. U.S. Secretary of Education, Miguel Cardona, will visit schools in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The purpose of his trip is to discuss Biden's 'Build Back Better' framework and how students can recover from the impact of COVID. Sec. Cardona will hold conversations with parents following the visit to each school. (WAFB)
  2. Tuesday began the first day of testimony in the murder trial for former Baton Rouge assistant principal. He was accused of murdering a woman allegedly pregnant with his child in 2016. The victim's daughter took the stand on Tuesday while they played the taped interview conducted when she was three years old. (WBRZ)
  3. Coca-Cola Baton Rouge will break ground for a $42 million facility expansion this morning. The expansion includes additional warehouse space and a new Vertique warehouse case picking system. It will also create up to 15 new jobs. (BRProud.com)
