  1. After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, Woman’s Hospital is bringing back its popular Baby Grand event in a new format. All expecting parents are invited to join Woman’s virtually for a free live educational event on Saturday, Jan. 15 from 9-11 a.m. (healthcarejournalbr.com)
  2. Coca-Cola has announced it is expanding its facility in Baton Rouge to the tune of $42 million in additions. The project includes adding to the building and improving the equipment needed to complete production and delivery. Louisiana leaders were on site to celebrate the company’s growth. (WAFB)
  3. A longtime Baton Rouge car mechanic was shot to death following an argument on Thursday morning. The victim was later identified as O.W. Turner, 51, whose death adds to an already unprecedented homicide rate plaguing East Baton Rouge Parish. (The Advocate)

  • The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art thanks everyone who participated in our competition on a 1+1 membership. Congratulations to Max from Stockholm, who won. He can now visit Not Vital's House to Watch the Sunset (photo) in our Sculpture Park and the rest of the museum every day in 2022 — for free (Mondays excluded). (Instagram)
  • One of Louisiana State Police Troop G Troopers was able to visit Homer Elementary School in Claiborne Parish to read Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” to all the students. Then, he, along with the Grinch paid a special visit to each classroom to help get the students excited about Christmas. (Facebook)
