• Gretna waste drop-off site moving, Jefferson Parish says (newsbreak.com) — Gretna’s Meadowbrook Waste Drop-Off Site on Wall Boulevard will relocate to 1201 Burmaster Street on Nov. 3, expanding free bulky-waste disposal for Gretna and unincorporated Jefferson Parish residents. The new site will run Tuesday through Saturday, while residents can still use the Marrero and other parish drop-off locations with slightly different hours. 
• Jimmy Cho of Banana Blossom dies at 50, future of Gretna restaurant unclear (nola.com) — Gretna residents are mourning Banana Blossom owner Jimmy Cho, who was found dead Monday at his Gretna home at age 50, leaving the beloved Thai restaurant closed until further notice and its future uncertain. Friends and fellow chefs across the New Orleans area are organizing tribute dishes this week to help cover his funeral expenses and honor his impact on the dining community.
