• HPD seeks suspect in Target theft and battery (hammondstar.com) — Hammond Police are asking for help identifying a man suspected of stealing items and shoving an employee at the Target on Hammond Square Drive on July 18. Investigators say the suspect hid merchandise, left without paying, and pushed a worker who tried to stop him. Residents with information can contact Detective Wade Phares or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
   

• 30 arrested in downtown Hammond ‘zero tolerance' operation (unfilteredwithkiran.com) — Hammond police made 30 arrests and seized multiple firearms during recent “zero tolerance” crime-suppression operations downtown, following an earlier shooting that injured a 17-year-old. Officers focused on traffic stops, curfew enforcement, and juvenile supervision, and reminded parents they can face charges for improper supervision. Residents are urged to report criminal activity directly to Hammond PD or Crime Stoppers.
   

• St. Helena: Head-on crash leaves 19-year-old from Hammond dead (unfilteredwithkiran.com) — A 19-year-old Hammond resident, Caden Thomas, died early Friday after a head-on hit-and-run crash on LA 1045 in St. Helena Parish. State Police say a pickup crossed the centerline, then the driver fled but later turned himself in and now faces negligent homicide and hit-and-run charges. The investigation into the circumstances of the crash is still ongoing.
