• HPD: Springfield man arrested in connection with narcotics investigation (an17.com) — Hammond police say a Springfield man was arrested after a joint investigation with Livingston Parish deputies led to a large seizure of suspected marijuana products and a rifle at a home inside Hammond city limits, near the SLU area. Detectives report hundreds of ounces and pre-rolls were found, and they’re asking residents to report any suspected drug activity to the HPD Narcotics Division. 
• 13-Year-Old Boy Shot His Dad While in the Car Line Because He Didn't Want To Go to School (cafemom.com) — A Hammond school resource officer quickly intervened after a 13-year-old allegedly shot his father in the car line outside Tangipahoa Alternative School, preventing anyone at the school from being hurt. Hammond police say the father was critically injured but later stabilized, the boy was taken to a juvenile detention center, and school officials praised the rapid lockdown that kept students safe.
