• 'They wanted him dead': Key witness testifies in staged collisions, murder-for-hire trial (wwltv.com) — A former Kenner magistrate judge is on trial in New Orleans, accused in a scheme involving staged 18-wheeler crashes and an alleged murder-for-hire plot. Jurors heard six hours of detailed testimony from a cooperating witness describing the crash fraud, payments, and the killing of a federal cooperator. Defense attorneys are attacking his credibility as the weeks-long trial continues. 
• Woman accused of striking, killing Jefferson Parish deputy to make court appearance today (wdsu.com) — A woman accused of fatally striking a Jefferson Parish deputy with her car during a February funeral procession is due in court for a discovery hearing, and she has pleaded not guilty. Investigators say multiple medications were in her system, and records note she's related to a current Kenner City Council member, while she remains free on bond but barred from driving.
• JPSO deputy who allegedly tracked ex with Flock cameras 'thousands of times' identified (wwltv.com) — A Jefferson Parish deputy has been fired after admitting he used Flock license-plate cameras to check his ex-fiancée's car more than 3,000 times over several years. The sheriff says safeguards to catch this kind of misuse have been weak but promises improvements, and the story links to a recent Kenner police warning that tampering with Flock cameras could bring felony charges.
