Metairie, LA: Man Hospitalized After Gas Station Shooting on Clearview Parkway (theunionstar.com) — A man was hospitalized in stable condition after being shot Thursday afternoon at the Chevron on Clearview Parkway near Veterans in Metairie, prompting a heavy Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office response. Deputies have not yet identified a suspect or motive, and residents around Clearview are urged to stay cautious and share any information that could help detectives piece together what happened.
   

2. Metairie man sues Jefferson Parish over utility bill (fox8live.com) — A Metairie resident is suing the Jefferson Parish Water Department after receiving a shocking $1,650 bi‑monthly bill for 99,000 gallons of water, even though he says he was in Europe and plumbers found no leaks. His case highlights growing frustration over rising parish water and sewer rates, and has parish leaders considering a formal appeals process and an outside review of rate hikes.
   

3. Metairie murder investigation leads to Terrytown arrest (wdsu.com) — Jefferson Parish deputies have arrested a Terrytown man in connection with a deadly Sept. 6 shooting at a Metairie bar on North Woodlawn Avenue, where a victim later died at the hospital. The suspect faces a second‑degree murder charge, and investigators are still asking anyone who knows more about what happened that morning to contact the JPSO Homicide Section or Crimestoppers.
   

4. The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas and members award $703k to 19 Louisiana community organizations (cuinsight.com) — Metairie residents may be interested to know that Jefferson Community Foundation in Metairie is receiving a $15,000 grant through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas' Partnership Grant Program. The funding is part of more than $700,000 awarded to Louisiana nonprofits, supporting capacity-building, operations, and community development work across the state.
   

5. Saints rookie's grocery store kindness turns into viral inspiration (wwltv.com) — A Metairie mom's quick grocery stop at the Rouses on Power Boulevard turned memorable when Saints rookie Christen Miller quietly paid for her groceries, inspiring a viral Facebook post.
