🌱 Animals Knock Out Power Twice + Pedestrian Killed On I-10

First, today's weather:

Here are the top three stories in New Orleans today:

  1. A pedestrian in the roadway of I-10 was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Slidell on Friday morning. The pedestrian was declared dead on the scene but the driver remained unharmed. (NOLA.com)
  2. For the second time this week, an animal knocked out power to thousands in New Orleans. Friday, an animal caused an electrical short that left three thousand people without power. Wednesday, a bird damaged power lines that left 10,000 without power and delayed the Pelican's tip-off time. (FOX 8 Local First)
  3. The Orleans Parish district attorney discussed the first week of jury trials in a news conference on Friday. The DA, Jason Williams, announced the convictions secured and an update on the case backlog resulting from the pandemic. You can watch footage from the conference here. (WDSU New Orleans)
