🌱 Fatal Crash in 7th Ward + Shooting On Chef Menteur Highway

Morning, New Orleans! It's Tuesday, so let's get you started with everything you need to know going on around town today.
First, today's weather:
Mostly sunny and nice. High: 75 Low: 64.
Here are the top three stories in New Orleans today:
- The wrong-way driver responsible for a fatal crash that killed 1 and injured 5 is currently being sought by police. Around 7 pm on Easter Sunday neighbors reported hearing shots around the intersection of Pauger and North Miro streets in the 7th ward when a Chevrolet Suburban crossed to the other side of the street and stuck a car which then caused the Suburban to overturn and hit five pedestrians, killing one. The occupants of the car then fled the scene on foot. (WDSU New Orleans)
- A shooting investigation is underway after a woman was injured in New Orleans East on Monday morning. NOPD officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting on Gentilly Boulevard. After some confusion, NOPD announced that the location had changed to a spot on Chef Menteur Highway. The woman was taken to the hospital and treated for her injuries.(WGNO New Orleans)
- Pete Jabbia, the associate superintendent of St. Tammany Parish public schools, has announced his plans to retire late in June after 54 years of being an educator and administrator. (NOLA.com)
