The review cites one deputy for unprofessional conduct, highlights poor planning and conflicting orders to media, and recommends better preparation for high-profile courthouse proceedings.

NOLA Dogs Race to the Rescue 5K helping local shelters (wdsu.com) — New Orleans–area pet lovers can join Sunday's NOLA Dogs Race to the Rescue 5K and dog parade at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery, supporting six local women-led, no-kill rescue groups including Animal Rescue New Orleans. Organizers expect more than 500 participants for the run, pet parade, and Blessing of the Pets, with proceeds helping cover substantial vet bills and ongoing overpopulation challenges.

Man hospitalized following Central City shooting, New Orleans Police report (wgno.com) — New Orleans police are investigating a Friday night shooting in Central City near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Claiborne Avenue, where a man was found with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital by private vehicle, and his condition remains unknown. Detectives are still gathering information, and no additional details have been released yet.
