Fire Near Bywater Historic District Damages Home, Sheds: Watch
Firefighters battled a house fire in the Bywater section of New Orleans. A video of the blaze was recorded and posted on Twitter.

NEW ORLEANS, LA — Heavy flames damaged a home in the Bywater section of New Orleans and a video of the blaze was posted on Twitter.
New Orleans Advocate reported the New Orleans Fire Department said the two-alarm blaze at Royal and St. Ferdinand streets late Sunday also damaged storage sheds. Firefighters responded just before 9:30 p.m.

A shed behind a duplex on the 700 block of St. Ferdinand Street was fully engulfed in flames, fire department spokesman Louis Carrier said in a release. Firefighters aggressively attacked the fire, but it spread to adjacent storage sheds, he said. The rear of the home was also damaged.

The blaze was under control at 10:04 p.m. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
