🌱 Friday Night Shootings + NOPD Search For Vehicle

Happy Sunday, people of New Orleans! Here's everything you need to know to get this day started. Here's everything you need to know in town today.


First, today's weather:

Sunny; pleasant in the p.m.. High: 81 Low: 60.


Here are the top three tories in New Orleans today:

  1. NOPD is seeking public assitance in locating a vehicle connected to a Hoffman Triangle double homicide that killed a 13-year-old boy. You can view photos of the car here. (Uptown Messenger)
  2. A pair of Friday night shootings left two victims wounded in New Orleans. NOPD first arrived onto the scene on Eagle Street and found a man suffering a gunshot wound to the body at 7:30pm. The second incident occurred at the intersection of North Miro and Clouet St where a man was found suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Both victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, anyone with information is asked to contact NOPD or Crimestoppers. (WWLTV.com)
  3. A grandmother with her grandchild was robbed and carjacked at gunpoint near a Lower 9th Ward playground on Wednesday evening. NOPD currently has the incident under investigation. (NOLA.com)

  • Children's Hospital New Orleans raised a record-breaking $1 million through its 40th Sugarplum Ball, last weekend. (My New Orleans)
  • The Loyola Drive and Veterans Boulevard intersection will be closed for the weekend, reopening on Monday. You can view a map and detours here. (WGNO New Orleans)
  • The New Orleans Jazz Museum has announced that the Tremé Creole Gumbo and Congo Square Rhythms festivals are back this weekend at Louis Armstrong Park in a combined celebration! The joint festival is free and open to the public with events taking place on Saturday and Sunday! (Instagram)
