🌱 Lawsuit Against Newman School Unsealed + NOPD Searches For 2 People

Here are the top stories today in New Orleans:

  1. A judge has ruled that the sexual assault lawsuit against Isidore Newman School can be unsealed, with a few redactions. The names of the people involved who were minors at the time of the incidents are not in the unsealed version of the lawsuit, but the rest of the details are now open for public viewing. (NOLA.com)
  2. Former state senator, Karen Carter Peterson, who aburbtly stepped down from her position last week, is reportably cooperating under her federal investigation according to her lawyer. The investigation is focusing on her finances and gambling addiction, which she has been transparent about her struggles with in the past. (WDSU New Orleans)
  3. NOPD is currently searching for 2 people wanted for questioning in connection to a missing person case. 46-year-old Becky Hendrix was reported missing on January 19th and police belive that Etienne Defelice, 56, and Michael Hearty, 43, have information that could be vital to solving her case.
