The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in New Orleans.
Good morning, New Orleans! I'm here in your inbox today to get you up to speed on everything you need to know about what's going on in town. Because community news matters! Here we go...
First, today's weather:
Humid with clouds and sun. High: 90 Low: 78.
Here are the top three stories today in New Orleans:

- Three more cases of monkeypox have been found in residents in the New Orleans area. The Louisiana Department of Health has now put the current case count of the virus at six in the state, all contained in the New Orleans Metro area. (WDSU New Orleans)
- The Orleans Justice Center held a practice run for potential hurricane evacuations of their inmates should another storm require it. During a real evacuation, inmates will be given an electronic armband that will be used to keep track them and to scan when inmates board and exit busses to take them to a different safe facility for the storm.
