🌱 Five Weekend Carjackings + First Female Schools Superintendent

Welcome back, New Orleans! Let's get this Monday started off right. Here's what's happening in town today.


First, today's weather:

A t-storm in the afternoon. High: 81 Low: 70.


Here are the top three stories in New Orleans today:

  1. NOPD responded to a call late Saturday night in Village De L' est where they found a man suffering from an undetermined number of gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. Anyone with information about this incident should contact police or Crimestoppers. (WGNO New Orleans)
  2. Five separate carjackings have occurred throughout New Orleans over the weekend. Friday night saw the first while the other four occurred early Saturday morning and late evening. No injuries have been reported but NOPD is working to recover the vehicles and make arrests. (WWLTV.com)
  3. New Orleans Public School's board has made the historical decision to choose the first woman to lead NOLA's school district. Dr. Avis Williams will replace the current superintendent in late June. (WWLTV.com)
