• Louisiana Film Prize 2026: Official Top 20 Finalists Announced (k945.com) — Downtown Shreveport will be buzzing October 14–18 as Prize Fest 2026 brings top filmmakers, chefs, musicians, photographers, and comedians to compete for major prizes, including a $50,000 film award. Screenings and events span Shreveport and Bossier City, with audiences helping pick the winners in person or online. Expect packed streets, red carpets, and plenty of creative energy. 
• Crack cocaine, other narcotics seized by SPD after traffic stop (ktalnews.com) — Shreveport police say a routine traffic stop at Broadway Avenue and Henry Street led to the arrest of a driver accused of trying to flee and carrying suspected crack cocaine and other narcotics packaged for distribution. Officers used tasers to detain the man, who now faces multiple drug charges plus counts for resisting and driving without a license, which SPD cites as a success of directed patrols.
