• Final suspect of six arrested in Slidell McDonald's shooting case (wgno.com) — Slidell police say the final suspect has surrendered in connection with a May 1 shooting outside the Voters Road McDonald’s, where a 17-year-old was grazed by a bullet. Six people now face attempted first-degree murder and weapons charges, and the interim chief stresses it’s a miracle more bystanders weren’t hurt.

• Slidell man sentenced for aggravated crimes against nature (wgno.com) — A Slidell resident has been sentenced to 99 years in prison after admitting to abusing a child under 13 at a local residence, according to prosecutors. The case, uncovered through the victim’s journal, led to a habitual-offender enhancement that requires the first 25 years be served without parole or probation.
