ā¢ The Slidell Independent Newspaper Caregivers can recharge thanks to new STARC Respite Center (slidell-independent.com) ā A new STARC Community Wins Respite Care Center in Slidell is now giving local caregivers a full weekend break by hosting their disabled loved ones from Friday through Sunday. Funded largely by Slidell-based In-Telecomās Community Wins golf tournaments, the center offers access to activities, a game room, and walking trails. Families can learn about eligibility and costs by calling STARC or visiting its website.

ā¢ St. Tammany Parish deputies investigate skeletal remains found near Slidell (wgno.com) ā Skeletal remains were discovered Monday afternoon in a retention pond near Indiana Avenue and Highway 11 just outside Slidell, and St. Tammany Parish deputies are investigating. The coroner and LSUās FACES Lab are working to identify the person, and authorities say foul play is not suspected at this time. Ā Ā Ā
