• Forum for Local Parents on Recognizing the Early Signs of Risk and Substance Misuse in Children to be Held at Zachary High School (porchandparish.com) — Parents in Zachary are invited to a free drug-prevention forum at Zachary High School's Visual and Performing Arts Center on Monday, October 5, with doors opening at 6 p.m. The Victoria's Voice VITAL SIGNS program will help families recognize early signs of substance misuse in children, with dinner provided and a Q&A session following the discussion. Registration is required due to limited seating. 
• Items Found in Zachary Search as Families Await Answers About Two Missing Women (brweeklypress.com) — Zachary police say investigators have found several items at an Ash Street property that are being examined in the search for missing women Madison Allen and Stephanie Hevia, though none are yet linked to the cases. Searches in Zachary and West Feliciana Parish continue, and a reward for tips leading to an arrest and indictment has been increased to $10,000.
