Augusta Election Results: Yes to Clinton, No to Legal Pot
Augusta election results for Nov. 8, 2016: O'Brien, Elliott elected to City Council; $7M+ in city repairs approved.
AUGUSTA, ME — Augusta voters on Tuesday chose Hillary Clinton in the presidential race while rejecting a statewide measure to legalize marijuana, according to preliminary results.
Clinton earned 4,396 votes compared to 3,805 for Donald Trump in Augusta. Augusta voters rejected Question 1, which seeks to legalize marijuana, by a count of 4,740 to 4,194.
Statewide, Hillary Clinton won Maine with three electoral votes. Donald Trump earned one vote, as Maine splits its electoral votes. Question 1 was poised to pass by a razor-thin margin.
