Maine Car in '146 mph' Criminal Speeding Case Listed For Sale

Police said a Maine teenager was arrested last month for driving 146 mph in a souped-up 2004 Dodge Neon; the vehicle is now listed for sale.

PITTSFIELD, ME β€” A 2004 Dodge Neon that state police clocked at 146 mph on Interstate 95 last month is now listed for sale.

On Sept. 28, police said they arrested the car's driver β€” an 18-year-old from Manchester β€” after he was clocked speeding at 146 mph in Pittsfield. The speed limit on that section of I-95 is 70 mph.

State police Lt. Bruce Scott, who said he eventually caught up to the vehicle and arrested the teen, added he had never clocked a driver "at such a high rate of speed." The teen driver was charged with criminal speeding, failure to provide proper inspection, and failure to provide proof of insurance.

On Thursday, the car was listed for sale on Craigslist. The asking price is $6,300. Unsurprisingly, the description makes no mention the vehicle was involved in last month's incident. A separate Craigslist posting titled "buyer beware" includes a link to a news story about the arrest.
