• 'I've always wanted to fly': Kids in Aviation Day gives aspiring Maine pilots an up-close look at aviation (newscentermaine.com) — A Kids in Aviation Day run by the University of Maine at Augusta brought young aspiring pilots to Brunswick's airport for hands‑on time with planes, drones, and aviation careers. UMA staff and graduates, including women working in the field, showed students from across Maine how they can train as pilots, drone operators, and aircraft technicians through the Augusta‑based public aviation program.
• Two care providers to lose MaineCare billing privileges next month (wgme.com) — From Augusta, state health officials say two home- and community‑based care providers will soon lose MaineCare billing privileges after their license applications were denied. The Department of Health and Human Services extended the cutoff to October 13 so affected members, including any Augusta‑area residents, have more time to transition safely to licensed providers.
