1. Flix & Greyhound Partnership Expansion and Campus Traffic Safety Enhancements - University of Maine at Augusta (uma.edu) — Residents and students in Augusta will soon have a new Flix and Greyhound bus stop right in front of UMA's Randall Student Center, improving regional travel options. The university is also adding stop signs, speed bumps, and traffic enforcement around the area to slow vehicles and protect pedestrians as bus service expands between Bangor, Augusta, Portland, and Boston.
   

2. Farmingdale man narrowly escapes burning home with help from his neighbor (wmtw.com) — A Farmingdale man is recovering after a neighbor helped him escape a fast-moving house fire on Roberta Street that left his home heavily damaged. After firefighters knocked down the flames, the 60-year-old homeowner was taken first to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, then flown to Portland for smoke inhalation treatment as investigators work to pinpoint what ignited a living room couch.
   

3. Maine's minimum wage to increase Jan. 1 (wabi.tv) — From Augusta, state officials have confirmed Maine's minimum wage will rise to $15.70 per hour on January 1, with the tipped wage increasing to $7.85. The change, driven by cost-of-living adjustments, also raises the salary threshold for some overtime-exempt workers, so Augusta employers and employees alike should review pay practices and required workplace posters.
   

4. CMP: This Maine summer was second hottest on record—that's why it needs to increase rates, fortify grid (newscentermaine.com) — From Augusta, Central Maine Power is arguing that this summer's record heat and related outages show why it needs a rate increase that could add about $18 a month to average bills. Company leaders say the money would help strengthen the grid and avoid future heat-related shutoffs, a debate that directly affects CMP customers in and around Augusta.
