📰 News we're reading
• Northern Mainers fear they can't afford heating bills this winter (mainepublic.org) — Residents in Hancock County, along with Aroostook and Washington counties, are flooding a local community action program with calls because they fear they can't afford heating oil as prices top six dollars a gallon. Older Mainers on fixed incomes are especially vulnerable, and agencies urge people in Hancock to apply early for HEAP assistance as the state prepares limited emergency funds and warming centers.
