• Large white shark reeled-in at Maine's Higgins Beach on Labor Day (wcvb.com) — A large white shark was briefly reeled in and released at Higgins Beach in Scarborough on Labor Day, adding to a summer of frequent shark sightings off the local coast. Drone operator Kevyn Fowler captured the moment and believes it's the same shark he filmed earlier, near where a lifeguard was dragged underwater at Scarborough Beach State Park earlier this season.
   

• Cheverus field hockey takes command in win over Scarborough (pressherald.com) — Scarborough High's field hockey team fell 4-0 to powerhouse Cheverus in Portland, dropping the Red Storm to 0-3 on the season. Cheverus controlled possession and corners throughout, while Scarborough Coach Kyla Wigant said her squad needs to play more aggressively and find its offensive "hunger" as the tough early schedule continues.
   

• Activists protest against ICE outside facility in Scarborough (fox23maine.com) — Demonstrators gathered along Route 1 in Scarborough on Tuesday to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement following the July shooting of Biddeford resident Johan Sebastian Duran Guerrero. Three groups rallied near the Scarborough ICE facility, carrying signs criticizing Trump administration immigration policies and calling for justice, while both federal officials and the Maine Attorney General continue investigating the shooting.
