• Meet Xena, our Adoptable Pet of the Week (wmtw.com) — If you're thinking about adding a dog to your family, Xena is a friendly 85-pound sweetheart now available for adoption through the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland in Westbrook. You can visit the shelter at 217 Landing Road most days between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to meet adoptable pets, with adoptions handled first-come, first-served and dog-to-dog meetups required.
   

• Maine stages are packed with fall theater, dance and classical productions (pressherald.com) — Portland Ballet is bringing its moody production of "Dracula" to the Westbrook Performing Arts Center for two performances this fall, giving local residents a major dance event close to home. The broader fall arts lineup across Maine includes serious plays, big touring musicals, symphony concerts, and other ballets in nearby cities, offering plenty of options for theater, music, and dance lovers.
   

• Check out the 1st Varsity Maine football polls — 11- and 8-man — of 2026 (pressherald.com) — Westbrook High's football team has debuted tied for fourth in the first Varsity Maine 11-man football poll of 2026, thanks to a strong opening win. The rankings, based on Week 1 games, place Thornton Academy first, with Bonny Eagle and Kennebunk just ahead of Westbrook and Greely. The poll will be updated as more games are played.
