• Woman moves ahead with lawsuit against MaineHealth for closing Damariscotta birthing center (pressherald.com) — A lawsuit challenging MaineHealth's plan to close Lincoln Hospital's Damariscotta birthing center is moving forward in Lincoln County Superior Court in Wiscasset. The pregnant Newcastle plaintiff argues the closure violates Affordable Care Act requirements and would force families across the Midcoast to travel much farther for labor and delivery care, as Maine faces widespread rural maternity ward shutdowns.
