US Army Tests Australian Lithium-Sulfur Battery to Break 99% China Drone Cell Dependency (techtimes.com) — Advanced lithium-sulfur batteries from Australian startup Li-S Energy have arrived at Aberdeen Proving Ground for independent testing by the Army's DEVCOM C5ISR Center, which is headquartered there. These tests will examine whether the new chemistry can cut Chinese supply-chain dependence while boosting drone and military platform performance, potentially shaping future power systems used by units tied to Aberdeen Proving Ground.
   

2. 3 small businesses pick up $149 million Army contracts (nj.com subscription) — Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground has awarded a major $99 million armor-development contract to Maryland-based Hardwire LLC as part of $149 million in new Pentagon awards. While other work will occur in Illinois and New Jersey, the Aberdeen Proving Ground-based command is directing the largest project, focused on lighter, more protective vehicle armor through 2031.
   

3. Army PM PNT Awards Initial Delivery Order for DME System (insidegnss.com) — Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground has announced a $3 million delivery order for DME B-kits that will support TRX Systems and future fielding of assured PNT gear. These systems will be integrated into tactical vehicles starting next year, enhancing GPS-resilient navigation for soldiers in contested environments.
   

4. GAO tosses QinetiQ's protest of TCOM's $625M Polish aerostat deal (washingtontechnology.com) — Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground is managing a $625 million aerostat contract for Poland that just survived a GAO protest from rival QinetiQ. With the challenge denied, TCOM can proceed to deliver four long-endurance radar aerostat systems, underscoring APG's role in overseeing major international defense deals.
