8-Foot Shark Fished Out of Potomac Waters
An 8-foot bull shark tangled in fishing nets was brought in by St. Mary's County fishermen.

You’re gonna need a bigger boat. An often-quoted line from the mother of all shark movies.
But, it was pretty accurate for a family of commercial fisherman on the Potomac River near Colton’s Point in St. Mary’s County. They landed an 8-foot bull shark found dead in a net.
Murphy Brown told TheBayNet.com, “It is very scary to think something like that is in our backyard [river], I was a surprised to see a shark that large come out of these water.”

Brown shot photos and video of the shark being hoisted off her family’s boat.
She told The Washington Post the shark was found Wednesday tangled in nets by her grandfather and father. But they couldn’t get to the shark with high tide and choppy waters. When they returned on Thursday, the shark was dead.
