Annapolis Chef Appears On Food Network’s 'Chopped Sweets' Show
Annapolis chef Allison Torsani Igwe worked at Ashling Kitchen & Bar in Crofton while filming the show.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Crofton resident and Annapolis chef Allison Torsani Igwe appeared on Food Network’s Chopped Sweets Feb. 24. A graduate of Anne Arundel Community College’s Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism Institute, Torsani Igwe filmed the show in October after a casting director reached out requesting for her to audition.
“I have been watching Chopped for easily a decade and always dreamed about being a good enough cook or baker to make it onto the show,” said Torsani Igwe in a statement. “This was a personal goal of mine for several years.”
Torsani Igwe worked at Ashling Kitchen & Bar in Crofton during filming, but food is her second career. She also holds a degree from Towson University and has worked as a copy editor in Florida and Maryland. After being laid off a few years ago, she decided she was done sitting at a computer.
“It was time to start my culinary journey — and it has been a wild ride ever since,” she said. “The culinary world has taken me so many places in a very short time. This is only the beginning.”
