Annapolis Man Provides Gun In Fatal Shooting, Faces 50 Years In Prison
An Annapolis man has pleaded guilty to providing a shooter with the handgun he used to kill a Dunkirk man, prosecutors say.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis man who handed a firearm to the gunman who fatally shot a Dunkirk man has pleaded guilty to felony charges, authorities say. Brandon Demon Johnson, 22, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, and use of a firearm in commission of a crime of violence.
"Although he did not pull the trigger, the fact remains that the victim would be alive today were it not for the callous actions of Brandon Johnson," said Anne Arundel County State's Attorney Wes Adams in a statement on Friday."Anyone who displays such a blatant disregard for the value of human life will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
Demari Kareem Crowdy, 19, of Arnold pleaded guilty in July to second-degree murder and gun charges in the "heinous and senseless" shooting death of Davon Jones, 25, of Dunkirk. Authorities say Johnson gave Crowdy the handgun he used to kill Jones on Sept. 3, 2016. Annapolis Police say Jones was found wounded by gunshots fired into a vehicle in the 800 block of Brooke Court. He was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

Surveillance video from the area of the homicide showed a man, identified by a witness as Crowdy, standing with a group of people near the 800 block of Brooke Court before Jones was shot. Prosecutors say when Crowdy saw Jones driving on Brooke Court, he took a gun from Johnson, ran to the passenger side of the victim's vehicle, and fired multiple shots.
Johnson faces up to 50 years in prison as a result of these convictions. His sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 10.
