Annapolis Officials To Establish A Civilian Review Board
Board members would review complaints by members of the public concerning allegations of misconduct by police officers in the public.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — The City of Annapolis seeks a core group of citizens to work toward establishing a civilian review board. A civilian review board, as may commonly be referred to, is a municipal body composed of citizen representatives who are typically tasked with reviewing complaints by members of the public concerning allegations of misconduct by police officers in their interactions with the public.
“Three years ago, I promised to be a mayor who would lead this city into a new era of inclusiveness, equity, diversity and unity,” said Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley. “I am asking residents to help us establish a formal planning committee so that we can move this issue forward.”
Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson added that he is “committed to improving the city’s oversight and transparency of the Annapolis Police Department.”
