Annapolis Police to Host Naptown Trot 5K

The weekend walk/run will benefit Special Olympics Maryland.

The Annapolis Police Department will host the first Naptown Trot 5K Walk/Run to Benefit Special Olympics Maryland on Saturday, March 28, at 7:30 a.m.

The mostly flat course through the Annapolis Historic District will begin at Calvary United Methodist Church at 301 Rowe Boulevard, turning right onto Rowe Boulevard from Herbert Sachs Boulevard, continuing on Rowe Boulevard to College Avenue, around Church Circle to Main Street, down Main Street to Randall and King George Streets, and then turning onto MD 450 and Taylor Avenue to return to Herbert Sachs Boulevard. Roads will be closed while runners and walkers travel through the course.

The Trot will be held in a wave allowing all levels of runners and walkers to participate, while a team competition category will encourage friendly rivalry between police and firefighters, health clubs, running shops, restaurants and other local businesses.

Visit the Naptown Trot website to register, sponsor a runner or learn more about the event. You can also register the day of the event at Calvary United Methodist Church from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. An awards ceremony will follow the completion of the race.
