Two Annapolis residents were shot Thursday, and a suspect linked to the case barricaded himself in an Edgewater house, police say.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Two Annapolis residents were shot last night, and a suspect linked to the case barricaded himself in an Edgewater house for several hours before surrendering Thursday morning, police say. A 41-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man remain hospitalized; the woman’s injuries appear to be non-life-threatening, while the man’s injuries are more severe, say Annapolis Police.
The names of the victims, their specific conditions and the extent of their injuries has not been released. The shootings were reported shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Madison Street. Officers were told a person of interest linked to the shooting was at an address in the 700 block of Central Avenue in Edgewater. When officers arrived about 11 p.m., the person barricaded himself inside the home, officers set up a perimeter and negotiators responded. The police response closed Central Avenue to all traffic until about 5:30 a.m.
Barnabas Offer Jr., 25, of Annapolis, surrendered after the standoff and was charged with two counts of attempted murder and related charges, authorities said. He was the only person in the home during the incident.
