Anne Arundel County Juror Tests Positive For Coronavirus
The juror reported for jury duty March 9 and March 12. Anyone else there on those days who shows symptoms should get tested, officials said.
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — A person who reported to the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court for jury duty March 9 and March 12 has since tested positive for the new coronavirus. The juror was not assigned to a jury, but was released from jury duty March 12. According to a statement posted on the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court's website, it is unclear if the juror had symptoms while in the courthouse. Approximately 141 jurors reported for duty.
Officials "strongly encourage" anyone who served jury duty on March 9 and March 12 and experiences symptoms should contact his or her primary care provider or the Anne Arundel County Health Department's health line at 410-222-7256, which is staffed weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They made the request "out of an abundance of caution."

As of Thursday morning, Anne Arundel County had 206 positive cases and the state had 2,331 confirmed cases. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, symptoms may appear two to 14 days after exposure. They include fever, cough and shortness of breath.
