Cell Phone Violation Leads to Drug Bust: Police
Annapolis Police charged a Hyattsville man with drug trafficking after a backpack full of pot, cocaine and cash was found.

A routine traffic stop for a driver talking on a cell phone led to a drug arrest by Annapolis Police and the seizure of a backpack full of marijuana, cocaine and cash.
An officer in the area of Chinquapin Round Road and Lincoln Drive saw a woman driving in traffic behind him talking on a cell phone Monday evening. The officer stopped the vehicle for the violation and reportedly smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

The passenger, Jeremy Visor, 24, of Hyattsville, admitted there was marijuana in the vehicle.
Officers searched the vehicle and found a bag of marijuana weighing 31 grams in the vehicle’s center console of the vehicle. The search also turned up almost $3,000 in Visor’s backpack, along with a bag containing 17 grams of cocaine. Another backpack in the vehicle contained 11 bags with marijuana inside for a total weight of 388 grams.

Police say Visor admitted all the drugs were his and he was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of CDS with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of CDS, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
Visor is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $15,000 bond. The driver was cited for the cell phone violation.
