Custom Tailor Shop Opens on Main St.
Mayor Josh Cohen was on hand to cut the ribbon for the grand opening of AIB Custom Tailoring.
AIB Custom Tailor opened its doors at 180 Main Street Wednesday with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Owner Abdoulaye Diallo has worked as a tailor for more than 30 years—12 of which were spent at Nordstrom.
"I've been working in this area a long time," Diallo said. "This is a very busy area, and it seemed like a good place for a shop."

Mayor Josh Cohen was on hand for the ribbon cutting, and he presented a citation from the in "appreciation of your contribution to the vitality of the Annapolis economy."
"I think that one of the ways that downtown has continued to be successful is by having unique stores," Cohen said. "I think that's what people respond to in this age of mass everything is that personal connection. They want to go into a store and know that the person who owns it is behind the counter. I think this custom tailor shop is the perfect fit for downtown."

The store itself mixes exposed brick with high-end finishes, and an artistic display of belts and ties greets shoppers as they enter the front door. It looks sleek and modern.
Ken Morrell, owner of , said, "When you walk through his shop, you'll find the quality level of his products are outstanding, and I know his dedication to his work. He could even make a suit that I'll fit in."
Diallo said suits start around $699 and can cost up to $2,600. Shirts start around $129, and ties are priced starting at $69.
The store also offers tuxedo rentals for weddings, proms and other special occasions.
AIB Custom Tailor is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
