Davis' Pub Debuts on Food Network
The Eastport hangout will be featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" at 10 p.m. Monday.

Set your television dial to the Food Network Monday night because Annapolis' own is going to be featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
The show's host Guy Fieri and his crew filmed at the pub on Nov. 11. The Eastport favorite will make its four-minute television debut sometime after 10 p.m.
Don't expect the pub to roll out a red carpet for the event though, said Owner Kiymoi Endo.

"Davis' is such a low key place. It seemed out of character for us to make it into a circus event," Endo said. "We do have a whole group of regular diners who are excited, and they are planning on eating dinner later so they can watch the show when it airs tonight."
She said the plan is to "be kind of chill about it; be normal I guess."

The featured dish on Monday night's episode will be a creation from Davis’ Pub chef Darby Butts. It's a chipotle habanero pork barbecue sandwich with purple citrus slaw. Butts created the recipe in 2010 and it sells for $8.95.
To get everything just right, Fieri and his crew spent about 10 hours filming at the pub, according to a press release. A camera man also spent a couple of hours driving around Annapolis taking establishing shots with a pub employee.
The show's producer also selected the pub's "customers" for that day and picked where they would sit. These background diners pretended to talk while actually eating about four plates of food in complete silence while the show's interviews were conducted.
"The result was a super awkward dining experience," the release stated.
Fieri's crew also filmed multiple shots of each step in the sandwich-making process, including a few scenes with local celebrity Jon Mayer.
Mayer had a show called The Feasty Boys, which was signed by the Travel Channel. It produced 10 episodes that are now showing on syndication. Mayer works at Davis' Pub part time.
Endo said she's not too worried Davis' be overrun by tourists after the show airs.
"They have a whole group of devout fans that plan road trips to the places that they film," Endo said. "I'm sure on the weekends there will be some new faces."
